The Sustainable Industry Lab 2025 (SILAB’25) is an annual event organized by the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw, addressing challenges highlighted in the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) resolutions, as well as those promoted by UN initiatives. The message of SILAB’25 is aligned with the Global Digital Compact, announced during the UN Summit for the Future in September 2024.
Equally important is the link with the strategies and initiatives of the European Commission such as the European Green Deal, Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission, Clean Industry Deal or the Twin Digital and Green Transition Strategy.
Digital technologies provide powerful tools supporting sustainable development at various levels: resource monitoring and management to reducing emissions, managing water and ecosystems, fostering innovative economic models and others. They enable innovative approaches to social, economic, and environmental challenges. However, fully unlocking their potential requires integrating these technologies with sustainable development policies and investing in education and infrastructure.
The conference Twin Green and Digital Transition: decarbonisation of cities and industry is an event addressed to leaders and decision-makers in the industrial sector, representatives of manufacturing and technology companies, startups and academia. The aim of the conference is to present the potential of a dual transformation – ecological and digital – in the context of industrial sectors. The implementation of digital technologies is becoming crucial in the transformation of industry, enabling the improvement of energy efficiency, waste reduction and production optimization.
Sustainable Industry Lab’25 will provide support for Polish companies, among others, in matters related to the need to implement solutions from the area of sustainable development in accordance with the CSRD directive.
At SILAB’25, representatives from private sector, local and central administration, business supporting organizations will discuss the synergies between green and digital transformation in the areas of legislation, technology, consumer behaviour and ESG reporting.
