Environmental Impact Award Poland 2024

On the 5th of June 2024, during the World Environment Day 2024 conference in Poland, a ceremony of awarding the Environmental Impact Award Poland 2024 (further as: “EIAP”) took place, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Anita Sowińska. The conference was organized by UNEP/GRID-Warsaw.

The EIAPs were presented for the first time this year and awarded to companies that initiate measures to liberate the environment from plastic pollution ahead of legislative action.

  • in the STARTUP categoryFibriTech,
  • in the MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISE categoryERG SA,
  • in the LARGE ENTERPRISE categoryVIVE Group.
     

The jury decided not to award the prize in the SMALL ENTERPRISE category this year.
Honourable mentions were given to: Planet Heroes (SMALL ENTERPRISE) and BASF Poland (LARGE ENTERPRISE).

A special award from the Ministry of Climate and Environment was presented to the startup System DOT.

The EIAP for the most influential person in Poland in the field of the protection and conservation of the natural environment, was handed in to Prof. Szymon Malinowski, for his relentless reminder of the urgent need to stop the global warming and for stressing that one does not negotiate with nature.
The honorable mention went to Magdalena Dziczek.
